Clean Energy Industries Commend Passage of H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act
Washington, DC – The Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE)’s President Lisa Jacobson offered the following statement on the passage of H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, by the House of Representatives.
“The Council commends passage of H.R. 9, the Climate Action Now Act, by the House of Representatives. This vote reaffirms the importance of U.S. diplomatic engagement in the Paris Agreement, the need for continued greenhouse gas reductions in the U.S., and the importance of meeting our national voluntary commitment to make those reductions.
“The Council applauds the re-emergence of a national discussion, led by a bipartisan Congress, on climate change. All levels of government, as well as business, academia and communities need to be called upon in this effort. Together, we can incentivize further investment and innovation for a low-carbon economy that creates jobs, provides reliable and affordable energy and increases our resilience against a changing climate.”
