Clean Energy Industries Join Diverse Set of Businesses to Call for Tax Extenders
Washington, DC – Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) President Lisa Jacobson offered the following statement on the letter sent to Congress today in support of a multi-year extension of tax provisions that are currently slated to expire at the end of 2016:
“The Council is pleased to be a signatory to the broad coalition letter released today calling for immediate action on a range of tax extenders this year.
“Current law provides a number of tax provisions to spur clean energy generation and energy efficiency. Without congressional action, several of these measures will expire on December 31, 2016.
“Bringing together agriculture and transportation organizations, the letter demonstrates the breadth of interests that rely on stable policy frameworks to expand investment and create jobs around the country.
“As the letter states, ‘allowing these tax provisions to lapse effectively increases taxes on entities that create jobs and economic growth.’
“The Council looks forward to working with Congress to provide a seamless, multi-year extension of the tax provisions that are currently slated to expire at the end of 2016.”
