Clean Energy Industries Call for Tax Extenders
Washington, DC – Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) President Lisa Jacobson issued the following statement regarding letters the Council sent to the House and Senate in support of a multi-year extension of tax provisions that are currently slated to expire at the end of 2016:
“The Council has issued letters to the House and Senate calling for immediate action on a range of tax extenders this year. The Council’s letters accompany a letter sent in September by a broad-based coalition of industries ranging from agriculture to transportation industries.
“Current law provides a number of tax provisions to spur clean energy generation and energy efficiency. Without congressional action, several of these measures will expire on December 31, 2016.
“Allowing these tax provisions to lapse effectively increases taxes on clean energy industries which create jobs and economic growth.’
“The Council looks forward to working with Congress to provide a seamless, multi-year extension of the tax provisions that are currently slated to expire at the end of 2016.”
