Business & Industry Affirms Engagement on Paris Agreement Implementation
Bonn, Germany - At the conclusion of the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Bonn, Germany this week, Business Council for Sustainable Energy Board Member Jim Wolf delivered an intervention on behalf of the international business community before the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA).
In the statement, the business community offered its practical expertise and willingness to partner with countries on critical issues around technology innovation and deployment, and the shaping of the new market mechanism to be created as part of the Paris Agreement’s mandate. The Paris Agreement created a groundswell of private sector commitments and support for climate action, and in the statement the international business community affirmed:
“Our shared agenda now focuses on the challenge of implementation. Let us work together to maximize the efficiency of our work, and to incentivize the necessary investment in the deployment of today’s and innovation of tomorrow’s low-carbon technology solutions.”
