2008 Election Results Signal Strong Clean Energy & Climate Policies
November 10 - The Business Council for Sustainable Energy looks forward to working with President-elect Obama and the members of the 111th United States Congress to strengthen the U.S. economy by enacting strong energy and economic policies that will rapidly deploy clean energy and energy efficiency technologies. This new direction will improve our national competitiveness and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The membership of the Council’s broad-based industry coalition believes there is tremendous opportunity to expand the use of existing clean energy technologies to create permanent “green” jobs and meet our nation’s economic, energy and environmental needs.
To showcase these opportunities, the Council will host a transition-focused forum for members of the new administration and Congress on March 2-4, 2009 in Washington, DC.
Founded in 1992 by senior executives of the natural gas, energy efficiency, electric utility and renewable energy industries, the Council offers a distinct, business-oriented perspective on energy, the environment and sustainability issues. The Council believes that the answers to our energy needs already exist here in the United States. Investing in clean and efficient energy is critical to our economic prosperity at home and abroad and part of a strong national energy policy.
